GTA 6 Fan’s Emotional ICU Plea Goes Viral

Islamabad: A video of an alleged Grand Theft Auto VI fan in a hospital bed saying he wants to play the highly anticipated game has gone viral on social media, prompting an emotional response from the gaming community.
The clip was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on August 9 by an account using the handle @gtasix_. It shows a man wearing an oxygen mask while lying in what appears to be a hospital bed, alongside the official Grand Theft Auto VI logo.
In the brief video, the man looks towards the camera and says: “I just want to play GTA 6.”
The post gained significant attention after Rockstar Games announced that an “Extended Look” at Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to premiere on August 27. The video has reportedly surpassed two million views and received thousands of likes, with fans leaving messages of support.
According to the account that shared the video, the man is in an intensive care unit awaiting a high-risk double lung transplant, while playing GTA 6 is reportedly among his biggest wishes. The post also claimed that members of his online community had joined efforts to help with his medical expenses.
“Bringing his story to your attention could mean the world to him during this fight,” the account said while tagging Rockstar Games.

Despite the emotional response to the video, several of the claims surrounding the man’s condition have not been independently verified.
No public confirmation has emerged from the hospital, doctors, family members or another independent source regarding the alleged patient’s identity, hospital admission, medical condition or reported need for a double lung transplant.
The circumstances in which the video was recorded also remain unclear.
Similarly, the claim that the fan’s community has been helping with his medical bills could not be independently established through a verified fundraising campaign.
The story has since been shared by multiple media outlets, while similar versions of the video have appeared across TikTok and other social media platforms. However, the absence of independent evidence means the claims surrounding the patient’s medical situation should be treated cautiously.
