Govt Introduces LPG Subsidy to Alleviate Winter Gas Shortages
News Desk
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a new subsidy on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to mitigate gas shortages during the winter season.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Parvez Malik made the announcement during a press conference alongside Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
Malik emphasized that the initiative aims to provide relief to the public amid rising energy demands in colder months.
He stated, “This subsidy will ensure that citizens have access to affordable gas, preventing any potential crises during the winter.
We are committed to supporting our people during this challenging time.” The government is implementing this relief system similar to the fuel relief measures previously introduced.
This subsidy is expected to significantly impact households across the country, particularly in rural areas where gas shortages are more pronounced.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to stabilize energy supplies and manage inflation, which has been a pressing issue for many citizens.
Looking ahead, the government plans to monitor the implementation of this subsidy closely and may hold further discussions to expand relief measures if necessary. Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback on the effectiveness of the subsidy as winter progresses.
