French Woman Allegedly Facing Abuse Rescued in Khyber

Peshawar: Police in Khyber district have rescued a French woman and her four children during an operation in Bara tehsil after receiving reports that she was allegedly a surviver of domestic violence.

According to police officials, the woman, identified as Sylva Yasmin, was recovered during a raid conducted in the area. Preliminary investigations indicated that she may have been subjected to abuse, prompting authorities to take immediate action.

Police said the French national is married to a Pakistani citizen and has been residing in Bara for several years.

Local sources stated that Yasmin has lived in the area since 2014. Mian Saeed, a local resident, said she had been living in the region for more than a decade.

Following the operation, the woman and her four children were transferred to the Women’s Police Station in Peshawar, where they are being provided protection and assistance while legal procedures continue.

Police have launched a formal investigation into the matter and said further legal action will be taken in accordance with the findings of the inquiry.
