FM Aurangzeb Leads Pakistan’s Delegation to IMF Meetings in Bangkok

BANGKOK: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb departed on Saturday for Bangkok to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the annual International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group meetings, scheduled from October 12 to 18.

The finance ministry stated that Aurangzeb will represent Pakistan at key events during the meetings, which are expected to attract over 15,000 participants from 191 countries, including central bank governors, economic policymakers, and business leaders.

This gathering aims to foster discussions on pressing global economic issues.

This year’s meetings come at a critical time for Pakistan, as the country grapples with economic challenges and seeks international support to stabilize its economy.

Aurangzeb’s participation underscores Pakistan’s commitment to engaging with global financial institutions to secure necessary funding and guidance.

During his visit, Aurangzeb will engage in an extensive program of over 60 high-level meetings, focusing on strengthening economic ties and addressing the challenges faced by developing nations.
