Arshad Nadeem Qualifies for Javelin Throw Final

Glasgow: Pakistan’s star athlete and Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has secured a place in the final of the javelin throw competition at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Arshad Nadeem finished seventh overall in the qualifying round, which featured 18 athletes, to advance to the final stage of the event.

The Pakistani athlete recorded his best throw of 78.63 metres in his opening attempt. His second throw was ruled a foul, while he managed a distance of 75.65 metres in his third and final attempt of the qualifying round.

India’s javelin throw champion Neeraj Chopra also progressed to the final, finishing fifth in the qualifying standings with a best throw of 79.61 metres. Chopra recorded 76.28 metres in his first attempt before improving his mark in the second round.

The final of the men’s javelin throw competition at the Commonwealth Games is scheduled to take place tomorrow night, where Arshad Nadeem will compete for a podium finish.
