Islamabad: An alleged audio recording purportedly featuring former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim and his ex-wife Sania Ashfaq have gone viral on social media, reigniting public discussion over the couple’s highly publicized separation.

The authenticity of the audio has not been independently verified, and neither Imad Wasim nor Sania Ashfaq has publicly confirmed that the voices in the recording are theirs.

The viral clip allegedly captures a conversation involving Imad Wasim, Sania Ashfaq, family members and police officials. In the recording, a woman alleged to be Sania is heard appealing to Imad to save their relationship for the sake of their children. The audio also appears to include the voices of young children.

The conversation reportedly includes discussions about the custody of the couple’s children. In one portion of the recording, the woman allegedly says she travelled from London in an effort to save the marriage and expresses concern about raising three children on her own.

The leaked audio surfaced weeks after Sania Ashfaq publicly accused her former husband of emotional abuse, mental pressure and neglecting their children. Imad Wasim has denied wrongdoing and previously warned his ex-wife against involving his current wife, Naila Raja, in the dispute.

The alleged recording has triggered widespread reactions across social media, with many users expressing sympathy for Sania Ashfaq, while others urged the public not to draw conclusions from unverified material.

Several Pakistani celebrities also reacted online. Actress Heera Soomro questioned why “most men do this,” while actress Armeena Khan wrote that “such men should never be blessed with any woman.”

Other social media users said the alleged audio was emotional and heartbreaking, though many also called for caution until its authenticity is established.

Neither Imad Wasim nor Sania Ashfaq has issued a statement regarding the viral recording at the time of publication.
