ISLAMABAD: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai has called for inclusive political dialogue to strengthen democracy in Pakistan, expressing his willingness to participate in negotiations with all political stakeholders.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Achakzai stressed the need for political parties to engage in meaningful discussions to address the country’s challenges and promote democratic stability.

“We are prepared for negotiations of every kind to ensure the survival and strengthening of democracy in our country,” he said, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among political forces amid the prevailing political divisions.

Achakzai’s remarks come as debates over governance, electoral reforms and political stability continue in Pakistan. He underscored the importance of building consensus among political parties to address national issues and strengthen public confidence in democratic institutions.

He also called on political leaders to convene a summit to develop a roadmap for national reconciliation and political reform, stressing that dialogue was essential to resolving differences and creating a more stable political environment.

Achakzai maintained that collective efforts by political stakeholders could help address pressing challenges, including economic difficulties, security concerns and social unrest, while ensuring broader participation in the democratic process.

He urged political leaders to prioritize national interests and work towards a consensus-based approach that upholds democratic principles and ensures representation for all sections of society.
