Islamabad: Netflix viewers around the world showed a strong appetite for suspense, romance and science fiction during the first half of 2026, with the streaming giant’s latest viewership report revealing record engagement across its platform.

According to Netflix’s latest data, users watched a combined 97 billion hours of content during the first six months of the year, with original series leading the global viewing race.

The psychological thriller “His & Hers” emerged as the most-watched original web series of 2026 so far, attracting 104 million views. Starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, the series follows a murder investigation that forces a divorced couple to confront their shared past.

The fourth season of the hit romantic drama “Bridgerton” claimed the second spot with 100.2 million views, continuing the show’s global popularity with its mix of romance, drama and period storytelling.

Action and suspense also remained major attractions for viewers, with Sam Worthington’s thriller “I Will Find You” securing third place after recording 63.9 million views.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated fifth and final season of the science fiction phenomenon “Stranger Things” ranked fourth with 55.6 million views, while another thriller, “Run Away,” completed the top five list with 50.3 million views.

The latest rankings highlight a clear global preference for high-stakes storytelling, emotional drama and fantasy worlds, as audiences continued to gravitate toward genres that combine mystery, romance and larger-than-life narratives.

Netflix said the figures reflect viewing trends across international markets, showing that suspense-driven series and established franchises remain among the strongest performers on the streaming platform.
