Washington: US President Donald Trump has unveiled a special commemorative US passport design to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, featuring a prominent image of himself.

President Trump shared an image of the proposed passport on his social media platform, Truth Social, with the caption: “The new US passport, which says Welcome, but behave!”

The design shows President Trump seated at the iconic Resolute Desk in the White House on one of the passport’s pages, with the text of the historic Declaration of Independence in the background.

His signature also appears at the bottom of the page. The passport’s front page features John Trumbull’s famous painting, The Declaration of Independence.

According to reports, the image of President Trump used in the commemorative passport closely resembles his official portrait displayed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington.

The newly revealed design differs from an earlier concept released by the US State Department this year, which featured a different image of the president.

The White House later shared the same design on its official X account with the caption: “New US passport to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.”

However, when asked whether the design represents the final and official version of the commemorative passport, the White House referred all inquiries to the US State Department.

Meanwhile, CNN also sought clarification from the State Department regarding the passport’s status, but no official response had been received at the time of publication.
