Strict Enforcement: 45 Cases Registered For Violating Dengue SOPs

Rawalpindi: The District Health Authority (DHA) has lodged 45 FIRs (First Information Report), issued tickets to 12, sealed two premises, and imposed a fine of Rs 101,000 on violations of anti-dengue SOPs during the last 24 hours.

District Coordinator of Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC) Dr Sajjad Mehmood said on Tuesday that the health department, in collaboration with allied departments, has taken these stern measures against dengue SOPs violations.

With the arrival of 35 more cases during the last 24 hours, the district’s total tally has reached 1,046 confirmed cases, revealed Dr Sajjad.

Among the new cases, 27 patients have arrived from the Potohar town urban area, three each from the Chaklala Cantonment and Municipal Corporation, and two from the Rawalpindi Cantonment area.

Presently, the 116 patients are admitted to different health facilities in the district, of which 92 are confirmed cases and 954 are discharged after treatment, informed Health Officer.

During indoor surveillance, in the last 24 hours, the teams checked 16,966 houses, and larvae were found in 1,062 homes. While checking 5,992 places, the teams found larvae at 136 sites during outdoor surveillance.
