LAHORE: Advanced Safe City surveillance cameras successfully traced and intercepted a stolen vehicle belonging to a woman journalist, which was spirited away from outside the Lahore Press Club, officials said on Tuesday.
The breakthrough occurred after the victim immediately alerted emergency services through the 15 helpline, prompting law enforcement to instantly blacklist the automobile within the centralized electronic monitoring network.
According to police sources, the suspects attempted to evade detection by swapping the vehicle’s original registration plates with fake ones.
However, the sophisticated optical character recognition and tracking algorithms integrated within the Punjab Safe City Authority network managed to isolate the unique vehicle profile, ultimately tracking its movement toward the northern district of Gujrat.
