Islamabad: At least nine people, including children, were injured in a bomb blast near a hospital in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, on Wednesday.
According to police officials, those injured in the blast include three children, a policeman, and pedestrians who were in the vicinity of the building, a private news channel reported.
Reports indicate that the explosion occurred in proximity to a garbage heap near Zarghoon Road in Quetta. Responding promptly, police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to the Trauma Center & Emergency Department in Quetta.
Arbab Kamran, the managing director of the center, informed Xinhua that two of the injured individuals are in critical condition and are currently receiving intensive care.
The police have cordoned off the area and initiated an investigation. Initial findings suggest that the bomb had been planted near the trash heap and was detonated when three children were searching through it.
