Punjab University Bus Falls into Ditch Near Balakot, 16 Injured

Islamabad: A bus carrying Punjab University employees met with an accident near Balakot after the driver lost control while attempting to avoid an oncoming vehicle, leaving 16 people injured.

According to the university spokesperson, the Punjab University Transport Wing bus was carrying 19 employees when it skidded off the road and fell into a ditch.

The injured employees were immediately shifted to Mansehra District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, where they received medical treatment. The spokesperson said that, fortunately, no fatalities were reported and all injured employees were later discharged from the hospital.

The bus driver told officials that the accident occurred while he was trying to avoid a vehicle coming from the opposite direction, causing the bus to lose balance on the road.

The injured employees were identified as Nadeem Suleman, Syed Waqar Ali, Junaid, Muhammad Irfan, Furqan, Younis, Shakeel Ahmed, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Riaz, Shaukat, Adnan, Hafiz Rashid, Abdul Jabbar, Nazir Rashid, Tanveer Hussain, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Siddique, Nauman Ali, Muhammad Ishaq, Nadeem, and Faiz.

The spokesperson added that the employees were on a personal trip to Naran and Kaghan when the accident occurred. Punjab University administration has been monitoring the situation and providing support to the injured staff members.
