Woman Shot Dead in Front of Husband in Muzaffargarh

Muzaffargarh: A woman was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants while returning home with her husband from a relative’s house in Muzaffargarh, police said Friday.
According to police, Kaneez Mai was travelling with her husband, Safdar, when armed attackers opened fire on the couple.
The woman suffered multiple bullet wounds and died at the scene, while the attackers escaped from the area immediately after the shooting.
Police registered a case against unidentified suspects on the complaint of the deceased’s husband and launched a search operation to trace those involved.
The motive behind the killing has not yet been established, police said, adding that investigators were examining different aspects of the incident.
Further investigation is underway.
Man Stabbed to Death in Bahawalpur
Police suspect an old personal dispute may have led to the killing of a man who was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants on the outskirts of Bahawalpur early Friday.
The incident occurred in the Phatak area at around 3am, where unidentified attackers allegedly assaulted the victim with knives before fleeing the scene.
According to Rescue 1122, the victim sustained severe injuries to his neck and forehead and died at the spot.
Police said preliminary investigation suggested that the deceased belonged to a nomadic community and that an old personal enmity could be behind the attack.
Rescue 1122 personnel reached the scene and confirmed that the man had died before their arrival.
The body was shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while police registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and arrest the suspects.
Police said further investigation is underway to determine the exact motive and circumstances surrounding the killing.
