LAHORE: The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a rain alert for the province, warning residents to prepare for potential heavy rainfall in the coming days.

The alert comes as weather forecasts predict significant precipitation, raising concerns about flooding and related hazards.

In an official statement, the PDMA urged citizens to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, particularly in low-lying areas prone to flooding.

The authority emphasized the importance of staying informed through local news and weather updates, as well as adhering to safety guidelines issued by local authorities.

This alert is particularly crucial as Punjab has experienced severe weather events in the past, leading to substantial damage to infrastructure and loss of life.

The government is mobilizing resources to ensure that emergency services are prepared to respond effectively to any incidents that may arise due to the anticipated rainfall.

Residents are advised to stock up on essential supplies and to avoid unnecessary travel during the expected downpours. The PDMA will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary, ensuring that the public remains informed and safe.
