RAWALPINDI: A motorcyclist ignited his bike in a dramatic act of frustration after receiving a traffic ticket for violations at Malad Chowk in Kotli Sattian on Thursday.
The incident unfolded when a traffic warden stopped the rider for not wearing a helmet and lacking a registration number plate, resulting in a Rs2,000 challan.
Following the issuance of the ticket, the motorcyclist moved approximately 20 yards away from the warden and set his motorcycle on fire, as reported by local police. Emergency services from Rescue 1122 were alerted and promptly extinguished the flames, with no injuries reported.
In a statement to the police, the motorcycle owner expressed that his actions stemmed from distress related to personal issues and financial burdens.
He lamented the incident, stating he was en route to earn a living when he was halted by the traffic officer, and vowed to adhere to traffic regulations in the future.
The chief traffic officer in Murree has since urged citizens to comply with traffic laws, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets and displaying proper registration plates while riding motorcycles.
