Pakistan’s Zubair Dominates Tekken 8 Final

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Muhammad Zubair has produced a remarkable comeback run to claim the Tekken 8 World Championship in Paris, defeating South Korea’s LowHigh 5-0 in a one-sided grand final.
Zubair’s triumph was particularly impressive given that he had to fight his way into the tournament through the Last Chance Qualifier. After securing his place in the main event, the Pakistani player continued his winning campaign through the knockout stages.
His toughest test came in the semifinal, where he faced compatriot and Tekken star Arsalan Ash. In a closely contested all-Pakistan clash, Zubair edged past Ash 5-4 to book his place in the final.
The final, however, proved to be a completely different affair. Zubair dominated LowHigh from the outset, completing a 5-0 sweep to lift the championship trophy and establish himself among the world’s leading Tekken players.
The victory earned Zubair $250,000 from the tournament’s $1 million prize pool, while LowHigh, representing DRX, finished runner-up with $130,000.
Australia’s Yagami secured third place and a $70,000 prize, while Arsalan Ash, representing Twisted Minds, finished fourth with $50,000.
The Paris tournament featured the world’s top Tekken 8 players and followed a three-stage format comprising group matches, playoffs and a single-elimination bracket.
Zubair’s title also carries significance beyond the championship itself, as the event served as a qualifier for the Tekken World Tour Finals 2026. His victory additionally earned him 1,000 club points.
With a Last Chance Qualifier entry followed by victories over elite international competition and a commanding grand-final performance, Zubair’s Paris triumph marks one of the standout achievements for Pakistani esports on the global stage.
