Islamabad’s Residents Get Driving License at Doorsteps
News Desk
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police has initiated a new service that delivers driving licenses directly to residents’ doorsteps, following directives from Inspector General (IG) Mohammad Sohail Chaudhry.
This innovative approach, launched on November 1, 2026, aims to enhance convenience for citizens and streamline the licensing process.
According to a spokesperson for the Islamabad Police, the service is facilitated through TCS, a leading courier company in Pakistan.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize traffic management and improve public service delivery.
IG Chaudhry emphasized that the new system is designed to reduce the hassle associated with obtaining a driving license, making it more accessible to the public.
The introduction of home delivery for driving licenses is expected to significantly benefit citizens, particularly those who face challenges in visiting licensing offices due to time constraints or mobility issues.
This move reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance public services and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
Looking ahead, the Islamabad Traffic Police plans to expand this service further, potentially incorporating additional features such as online applications and real-time tracking of license deliveries.
This initiative marks a significant step towards a more efficient and user-friendly traffic management system in the capital.
