LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed that the 12th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place from March 18 to May 2, 2026.

This announcement was made following a meeting of the PSL governing council held in London on September 1, where franchise owners and representatives discussed the upcoming season.

The PCB stated that further details regarding the match schedule, venues, and ticketing arrangements will be released in due course. The next phase of squad-building will include direct signings, player retentions, a trade window, and the player auction, ensuring teams are well-prepared for the competition.

PSL 12 follows an expanded 2026 season that introduced eight teams for the first time, including the Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz franchises.

The previous season marked a significant shift from a draft system to a player auction, with 103 players sold to the franchises during the inaugural auction held in February.

The PCB has indicated that players retained or acquired will be on two-year contracts covering both the 11th and 12th editions, allowing franchises to retain up to seven players for the upcoming season.

As anticipation builds for PSL 12, cricket enthusiasts and stakeholders are eager to see how the league evolves with its new structure and player dynamics.

The PCB’s strategic planning aims to enhance the league’s competitiveness and appeal, promising an exciting season ahead.
