Foreign Woman Exonerates Accused in Sexual Assault Case
News Desk
LAHORE: In a dramatic turn of events, a foreign national woman at the center of a high-profile sexual assault case has declared the primary accused, Ahmed Tanveer, entirely innocent through a newly released video statement.
The foreign national stated that the allegations previously leveled against the suspect were based on severe misunderstandings, effectively clearing him of any wrongdoing or involvement in the alleged crime.
According to the video statement submitted to legal representatives, the foreign national clarified that Ahmed Tanveer did not commit any unlawful act against her during her stay.
She requested that law enforcement agencies and judicial authorities immediately withdraw all pending charges against Tanveer, emphasizing that he had been wrongfully implicated in the matter.
Defense attorneys representing Tanveer stated that the video evidence, along with an official affidavit, will be formally presented before the court to seek the immediate discharge of their client.
Legal experts noted that while video statements carry significant weight in shifting public perception, Pakistani criminal jurisprudence requires formal judicial verification, including the recording of a witness statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
Investigators handling the case emphasized that law enforcement officials must verify the authenticity of the digital recording and ensure that the foreign national made the statement voluntarily without any legal coercion, physical threat, or financial inducement.
The local police and prosecution team are expected to present these new developments before the trial judge during the upcoming hearing later this week.
The court will subsequently decide whether to summon the foreign national for in-person testimony or accept the legal documentation presented by the defense counsel to finalize the acquittal process.
