Dubai: Residents across the UAE can expect slightly cooler daytime temperatures on Wednesday, although dusty conditions and strong winds are likely to affect parts of the country, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The forecast indicates generally fair skies, with a modest drop in temperatures, particularly across western regions. However, fresh southwesterly to northwesterly winds are expected to pick up at times, raising dust and reducing visibility in exposed areas.

Daytime highs will reach around 41°C in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, while minimum temperatures are expected to range between 29°C and 31°C, offering only limited relief from the summer heat.

Humidity levels are forecast to increase overnight and into Wednesday morning, reaching up to 85% in coastal and inland areas. The NCM said these conditions could lead to mist formation in some locations during the early hours.

Winds will generally blow at speeds of 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h, particularly in western parts of the country where blowing dust is expected.

At sea, conditions in the Arabian Gulf will be slight to moderate before becoming rough at times in western waters, while the Oman Sea is expected to remain slight.

The forecast comes as the UAE enters Jamrat Al Qayth, the hottest and driest period of the year, which runs from July 3 to August 10. According to the Emirates Astronomical Society, this seasonal phase marks the peak of summer across the UAE and the wider Arabian Peninsula.

Despite the arrival of this intense summer period, parts of the country experienced rainfall last week, providing a brief respite from the otherwise soaring temperatures.
