Karachi: Light drizzle was reported in several areas of Karachi on Thursday, bringing pleasant weather to the city.

According to reports, drizzle occurred in areas including Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Rashid Minhas Road and North Karachi, providing relief from the recent heat.

Meanwhile, rain and strong winds in different parts of Lahore disrupted flight operations, causing delays in the arrival and departure of several flights.

In Punjab, five people were injured after the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain in Pattoki and Faisalabad.

Rain was also reported in several other cities across the province.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, four people lost their lives in rain-related accidents in Dera Ismail Khan, according to local authorities.

The Meteorological Department has forecast more rainfall in various parts of the country over the coming days and has advised citizens to take necessary precautions.

Earlier, continuous heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms have brought pleasant weather to several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.

However, the downpour has also caused difficulties for residents, with flooding in rivers and canals, water accumulation on roads, and inundation of low-lying areas reported in multiple regions.

The Meteorological Department has forecast more rainfall over the coming days, stating that the current spell of wet weather is likely to continue until June 20.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intermittent heavy rainfall was recorded in both plains and upper areas of Shangla district. The showers helped break the ongoing heatwave in lowland areas, while temperatures dropped significantly in the hills, making the weather notably pleasant.
