Demand for Meeting with Imran Khan Sparks Governor’s Rule: Gohar
News Desk
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar on Tuesday stated that the demand for a meeting with former Prime Minister Imran Khan has led to the imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking to the media at the Dahgal checkpoint, Gohar emphasized that the political landscape in the province has been significantly affected by the halt in Khan’s meetings over the past year.
Gohar’s remarks come amid rising tensions within the PTI and the broader political environment in Pakistan.
He asserted that the inability to engage with Khan has created a vacuum that has prompted the federal government to intervene by imposing Governor’s Rule, a move he claims undermines democratic processes in the region.
This development raises concerns about the stability of governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province that has been a stronghold for the PTI.
The imposition of Governor’s Rule could lead to increased political unrest and dissatisfaction among the party’s supporters, potentially impacting the upcoming elections and the overall political climate in Pakistan.
Looking ahead, political analysts anticipate further discussions within the PTI regarding Khan’s future engagements and strategies to navigate the current crisis.
The party is expected to hold meetings to address the implications of the Governor’s Rule and to strategize on how to regain control and influence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
