BISP Benazir Launches New Digital Wallet for Women

ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has introduced a new Social Protection Wallet aimed at providing eligible women with a modern, transparent, and secure digital payment system.

This initiative is designed to give deserving women direct and safe control over their funds, enhancing their financial autonomy.

According to BISP officials, the new wallet system will streamline the payment process, ensuring that beneficiaries can access their funds easily and securely.

“This is a significant step towards empowering women and ensuring they have the means to support themselves and their families,” said a BISP spokesperson during the launch event.

The introduction of the Social Protection Wallet is expected to have a profound impact on women’s financial independence in Pakistan.

By facilitating direct access to funds, the program aims to reduce reliance on intermediaries and promote economic stability among vulnerable populations.

This move aligns with the government’s broader strategy to enhance social safety nets and improve the living standards of marginalized communities.

Looking ahead, BISP plans to conduct training sessions for beneficiaries to familiarize them with the new system and ensure a smooth transition.

The agency is also exploring partnerships with financial institutions to expand the wallet’s functionalities, potentially integrating additional services such as savings and micro-loans.
