CM Bugti Urges Smaller Administrative Units for Governance
News Desk
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti emphasized the necessity of establishing smaller administrative units to enhance the delivery of government services directly to citizens.
Speaking at a press conference in North Dera Bugti on Friday, he highlighted that the creation of new provinces should be complemented by the formation of smaller divisions and districts.
Bugti noted that all divisional posts for the newly proposed Koh-i-Suleman Division have been approved, with appointments for officers and staff expected to follow shortly.
He remarked that while the national conversation on smaller administrative units has only recently gained traction, he initiated efforts in this direction two years ago, recognizing the unique challenges faced by Balochistan and its residents.
The Chief Minister’s push for smaller units aims to facilitate public access to civil administration, potentially transforming the governance landscape in the province.
This initiative could lead to improved efficiency in service delivery, addressing long-standing issues of accessibility and responsiveness in government operations.
Looking ahead, Bugti’s administration plans to expedite the establishment of these units, which may include further discussions and consultations with stakeholders to ensure that the needs of the populace are met effectively.
The focus remains on fostering a development-friendly environment in Balochistan.
