RAWALPINDI: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CDF), Field Marshal Asim Munir, emphasized the critical need for unwavering focus on the development of local defense capabilities and operational readiness during a recent address in Tarbela on November 5, 2026.

According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir highlighted that enhancing indigenous defense capabilities is essential for ensuring national security.

He stated, “Our commitment to strengthening our defense infrastructure is paramount, and we must prioritize operational preparedness to address any challenges that may arise.”

This statement comes at a time when regional security dynamics are increasingly complex, necessitating a robust defense posture.

The emphasis on local capabilities reflects a strategic shift towards self-reliance in defense, which could bolster Pakistan’s position in regional geopolitics and enhance its deterrence capabilities.

Looking ahead, the military is expected to initiate further training programs and collaborations with local defense industries to foster innovation and efficiency.

The Army Chief’s remarks signal a proactive approach to defense strategy, aiming to ensure that Pakistan remains prepared for any eventualities in a rapidly changing security environment.
