QUETTA: Balochistan has officially launched its first digital marriage registration system, marking a significant advancement in the province’s administrative capabilities.
The inaugural marriage registration certificate was issued on November 5, 2026, at the Haji Ghaibi Road Union Council in Quetta, a move aimed at modernizing the marriage registration process.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Balochistan government and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Officials stated that this digital system will streamline the marriage registration process, making it more efficient and accessible for citizens.
“This is a historic step for Balochistan, as it not only simplifies the process but also ensures better record-keeping and transparency,” said a government spokesperson.
The introduction of digital marriage registration is expected to have far-reaching implications for the residents of Balochistan.
It will facilitate easier access to marriage certificates, which are essential for various legal and administrative purposes.
Moreover, this initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to digitize public services, enhancing overall governance and citizen engagement.
Looking ahead, the Balochistan government plans to expand this digital initiative to other administrative services, aiming to improve efficiency and reduce bureaucratic hurdles.
Further training sessions for local officials are scheduled to ensure the smooth implementation of the system across the province.
