CDA’s Tax Bombshell Rocks Islamabad’s Property Market

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has recently announced significant tax increases on real estate properties across the federal capital, Islamabad.

According to the notification, owners of 140-square-yard plots in sectors and housing societies such as Shehzad Town, Margala Town, and Rawal Town will now be subject to a tax of Rs 24,000.

Farmhouse owners with eight kanals will face a tax of Rs 180,000, while those with 90 to 120 kanals will incur a tax of Rs 442,000.

Commercial properties located in the blue area will be taxed at Rs 32 per square foot for the ground floor, Rs 22 per square foot for the basement, and residential apartments at Rs 26 per square foot.
