Boeing Offers Revised Proposal for New Aircraft Procurement to PIA

The development emerged during a high-level meeting between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb and senior Boeing executives in New York.
During the discussion, the aircraft manufacturing corporation expressed its willingness to facilitate the flag carrier’s fleet modernization program through a freshly structured proposal.
The talks focused on viable commercial pathways and financial modalities to bridge the gap for acquiring advanced, fuel-efficient aircraft necessary for the airline’s operational turnaround.
The initiative aligns with Islamabad’s broader strategy to restructure and privatize the loss-making national flag carrier while upgrading its aging fleet to meet international safety and service standards.
Reviving international routes and enhancing passenger capacity remain critical components of making PIA an attractive proposition for prospective investors in the ongoing privatization drive.
