Autopsy Reveals Multiple Injuries in Hina’s Death

Rawalpindi: The postmortem examination of 45-year-old Hina Javed, whose death is being investigated as an alleged murder, has revealed several injuries, while forensic testing is still required to determine the exact cause of death.

According to the preliminary autopsy findings obtained during the investigation, Javed had a fractured neck as well as injuries around her ribs and hip. Blood was also found in the membrane surrounding her heart.

The postmortem was conducted approximately 12 hours after her death. Police had initially told the examining doctor that Javed had allegedly been hanged by her husband, Faisal Asghar.

The preliminary examination, however, did not establish a conclusive cause of death. Investigators have collected DNA and other samples from the body and sent them to a forensic laboratory for further analysis.

Police are continuing to investigate Asghar’s movements and conduct following the incident. According to investigators, he continued teaching at different universities and had reportedly discussed cases involving husbands killing their wives during some of his lectures.

Javed’s father-in-law told police in his initial statement that disagreements between the couple had started soon after their marriage. Police have reportedly barred him from leaving the city until the investigation is completed.

Asghar and domestic worker Zeeshan, both nominated in the case, are currently being held by police on a three-day physical remand.

Investigators have collected 19 items from the suspected crime scene, including Javed’s mobile phone, a suspected weapon, wire and rope. DNA samples have also been obtained from the suspects and sent for forensic examination.

The murder case was registered at Civil Lines Police Station on August 22 on a complaint filed by Javed’s brother. The FIR states that her body was found inside the bathroom of her residence in Rawalpindi’s Lal Kurti area.

According to the complaint, Javed’s hands were allegedly tied behind her back, a piece of cloth had been placed in her mouth and a wire was found around her neck.

Javed married Faisal Asghar, son of retired government officer Asghar Ali, in November 2025.

Her brother told police that he received an emergency call from Javed’s father-in-law and was asked to immediately come to the house. He said he reached the residence with a family member and found his sister dead inside the bathroom.

Javed’s family has urged the Punjab Police and other authorities to ensure an impartial and transparent investigation. They have called for all possible aspects of the case to be examined without pressure, influence or unnecessary delay.
