17 Killed, 30 Injured in Blast Near Political Office in Pishin

Islamabad: At least 17 people were killed and 30 injured as a result of a blast near a political leader’s office in Pishin district of Balochistan on Wednesday.

The police confirmed the explosion and said that the explosion took place outside the office of the political party in which 17 people were killed and 30 injured.

According to sources, the blast took place outside the office of Asfandyar Kakar, an election candidate in PB-47 in Khanuzai.

As soon as the explosion was reported, a heavy police force reached the area and the injured were shifted to the hospital. Some of them are said to be in serious condition.

Former minister Asfandyar Kakar belongs to a political party, but this time he is contesting as an independent candidate after not getting a ticket.

On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of the incident and has sought an immediate report from the Chief Secretary and IG Balochistan.

The Election Commission has directed that immediate action be taken against those involved in these incidents.

Meanwhile Balochistan Interior Minister Zubair Jamali condemned the blast and sought a report from the Deputy Commissioner. Zubair Jamali said that the determination against terrorism will not waver.

He said that enemies are trying to create instability in the country, unity will thwart the enemy’s plot, such an attack will not affect the election process.
