Traffic Diversion Plan Issued for Independence Day

Islamabad: The Islamabad Traffic Police have announced a comprehensive traffic diversion plan ahead of Independence Day celebrations at Yadgar-e-Fatah H-8, with several major roads and connecting routes to remain closed or diverted from August 12 to August 14.
The celebrations are scheduled to take place at Yadgar-e-Fatah H-8 on August 13. According to the traffic plan, heavy traffic will remain restricted in Islamabad from midnight on August 12 until midnight on August 14.
Several routes around H-8, Shakarparian, Faisal Avenue, Faizabad and Srinagar Highway will also face restrictions for light traffic.
Faisal Avenue will be closed in both directions between Coral Chowk and Khayaban Chowk Expressway. Motorists travelling between Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been advised to use alternative routes, including Khanna Pul, Lehtrar Road, Park Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Murree Road, Serena Hotel, Suhrawardy Road, Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road.
Traffic diversions will also be implemented around Faizabad, including the loops connecting Faisal Avenue and the Expressway. Motorists travelling between Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been advised to use Ninth Avenue, Jinnah Avenue or Murree Road.
Several roads around H-8 and I-8 will also be closed, including Garden Flyover on the I-8 side, Faiz Ahmed Faiz Road, Mir Chakar Road, Judicial Academy Road and Mir Zafarullah Road.
Residents of I-8 and H-8 have been advised to use Ninth Avenue and Jinnah Avenue for travel towards Islamabad, while those travelling towards Rawalpindi can use Ninth Avenue, IJP Road, Double Road and Murree Road.
The Garden area near Shakarparian will also remain closed to traffic, with motorists advised to use Seventh Avenue, Jinnah Avenue and Ninth Avenue as alternatives. Chand Tara T-Cross and Garden Avenue Road near Shakarparian will also be closed.
Traffic restrictions will further affect Peshawar Road near Kodianwala Chowk and Srinagar Highway.
Special routes have also been designated for people travelling between Murree, Bhara Kahu, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Motorists heading to Islamabad from Murree and Bhara Kahu can use Murree Road, Serena Hotel, Suhrawardy Road and Jinnah Avenue, while those travelling towards Rawalpindi can use Rawal Dam Chowk, Park Road, Captain Naeem Tufail Shaheed Chowk, Lehtrar Road, Khanna and the Expressway.
Authorities have also outlined emergency routes for ambulances and people travelling to major hospitals.
Those travelling to Al-Shifa Hospital have been advised to use Ninth Avenue and Karnal Sher Khan Road. Access to PIMS Hospital will be available through Jinnah Avenue, Ninth Avenue, Ibn Sina Road and Margalla Road.
For Polyclinic and CDA Hospital, motorists can use Jinnah Avenue, Seventh Avenue, Margalla Road, Shaheed-e-Millat Road and Fazal-e-Haq Road.
The Islamabad Traffic Police have urged citizens to plan their journeys in advance and use designated alternative routes during the restrictions to avoid inconvenience.
