Rawalpindi Utilities Must Obtain Permission Before Road Digging
News Desk
RAWALPINDI: The divisional administration has mandated that utility service departments must secure road-cutting permission and a no-objection certificate (NOC) before commencing any development work.
This directive was issued by Commissioner Rawalpindi Salman Ghani during a meeting focused on the management of underground utility lines and road-cutting permissions.
Ghani emphasized that the frequent cutting of roads in urban areas leads to significant public inconvenience, exacerbates traffic congestion, and results in unnecessary wastage of resources.
He highlighted the need for a coordinated approach among various government departments to minimize disruption.
This new regulation aims to streamline the process for utility installations while ensuring that citizens experience less disruption in their daily commutes.
The decision reflects a growing concern over urban infrastructure management and the need for better planning in the face of increasing urbanization.
Moving forward, the administration plans to hold regular meetings to monitor compliance with these regulations and address any challenges that may arise. Stakeholders are encouraged to collaborate closely to ensure that utility work is conducted efficiently and with minimal impact on the public.
