Karachi: The lights are set to blaze at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium as a desperate yet determined Rawalpindiz side, led by Mohammad Rizwan, won the toss and elected to field first against Quetta Gladiators in the 18th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 on Friday.

With both teams hungry for momentum, the contest promises more than just two points, it’s about survival, redemption, and a statement of intent.

Quetta, captained by Saud Shakeel, stepped in under pressure after a shaky run, managing just one win in four outings.

Their campaign has swung wildly, from a morale-boosting victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen to frustrating defeats against heavyweights like Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United. Consistency remains their biggest challenge.

Across the field, the Rawalpindiz, PSL’s newest entrants, find themselves in even deeper waters. Yet to register a win, Rizwan’s men sit at the bottom of the table after four consecutive losses, including setbacks against Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, United, and table-toppers Multan Sultans.

But with nothing left to lose, they could prove to be the most dangerous side on the park.

Adding intrigue, this marks the first-ever meeting between the Gladiators and the debutant Pindiz, an unknown rivalry ready to ignite.
