PMD Warns of Rising Heat Across Sindh, Balochistan

Karachi/Quetta: Heat and humidity are expected to persist across Sindh and Balochistan over the next few days, with weather authorities warning of extreme temperatures in several districts and advising residents to take precautionary measures.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and very humid conditions across most parts of Sindh, with central and upper districts likely to experience very hot weather during daytime.

Coastal areas, including Karachi, may see partly cloudy conditions, with chances of light rain or drizzle at isolated places during night hours.

Dadu recorded the highest temperature in Sindh at 42°C, while Sukkur reached 40°C. Temperatures were also recorded at 39°C in Moen jo Daro and Nawabshah, 36°C in Mithi, 35°C in Hyderabad, 34°C in Thatta, and 33°C in Karachi.

Meanwhile, Balochistan is also facing continued hot and dry conditions as a seasonal low remains over the province, with moist currents from the Arabian Sea affecting weather patterns.

The Regional Meteorological Center Quetta has forecast very hot conditions in several areas, including Nokkundi, Washuk, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Kech, Noshki, Quetta, Pishin, Sibbi and Naseerabad.

However, parts of northeastern and central Balochistan may experience partly cloudy weather with chances of rain, thunderstorms, gusty winds and isolated heavy showers.

Nokkundi recorded the highest temperature in the province at 47°C, while Gwadar remained comparatively cooler at 31.5°C.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious during peak heat hours, while farmers and travellers have been advised to plan activities according to changing weather conditions.
