Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Student Harassment

Rawalpindi: The district police have arrested a man accused of harassing a female student while she was on her way to attend classes, following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.

According to police officials, the suspect allegedly made inappropriate gestures and passed offensive remarks at the student, prompting her family to approach authorities.

After registration of the case, Chaklala Police conducted an operation and took the accused into custody.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan said the suspect would be presented before the court along with evidence to ensure legal proceedings in accordance with the law.

He said harassment and crimes against women would not be tolerated, adding that police would continue taking strict action against those involved in such offences.

Railway Track Accident Claims Life of 28-Year-Old

A 28-year-old man died after being struck by a passenger train while crossing a railway track near Nadirabad Phatak on Sher Shah Road in Multan on Monday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the victim, identified as Muhammad Usama, son of Muhammad Sarwar, was crossing the track when he was hit by the Lahore-bound Khyber Mail Express, which was travelling from Karachi.

The impact caused severe head injuries, resulting in his death at the scene.

Police teams were already present at the location and completed the necessary legal procedures before the body was shifted to Nishtar Hospital by Rescue 1122 under police supervision.

Authorities have repeatedly advised citizens to avoid crossing railway tracks and use designated crossings to prevent such accidents.
