PMD Forecasts Rainfall In Punjab, KP, Eastern Sindh

Karachi/Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) projects rainfall in eastern Sindh districts as moderate monsoon currents are penetrating the area. Meanwhile, rain-wind and thundershowers are expected in Islamabad, upper and central Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, northeast Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Heavy falls are expected in KP, Islamabad, the Potohar region, eastern Punjab and southeast/lower Sindh during the forecast period.

Under the influence of monsoon currents, dust-thunderstorms or rain with isolated heavy falls are likely to occur in Tharparker, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Badin, Sujawal, Thatta, and Jamshoro Districts today to September 20th, with occasional gaps.

The Met Office states that dust storms or rain with a few moderate falls may occur in Larkana, Dadu, Sukkur, Ghotki, Naushahro Feroz, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mityari, Hyderabad, T.M. Khan, T.A. Yar, and Kambar Shahdadkot districts during September 18–19, with occasional gaps.

According to PMD, hot and humid weather with chances of isolated dust storms or light rain is likely in Karachi division on September 18 evening and September 19-20.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in Karachi were 37°C and 26°C, respectively, during the last 24 hours.
