ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a crucial meeting with leaders of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday to discuss potential political alliances and governance strategies in Karachi.
The meeting, which took place at the Prime Minister’s Office, aimed to address ongoing concerns regarding urban development and the socio-economic challenges faced by the residents of Karachi.
PM Sharif emphasized the importance of collaboration between the federal government and local political entities to ensure effective governance. “We must work together to uplift Karachi and provide better services to its citizens,” he stated during the discussions.
This meeting comes at a critical time as the government seeks to strengthen its political base in Sindh province, where the MQM holds significant influence.
The collaboration could lead to enhanced support for federal initiatives and improved resource allocation for Karachi, which has been grappling with issues such as infrastructure decay and public service deficiencies.
Looking ahead, both parties are expected to engage in further discussions to solidify their partnership.
Upcoming meetings are anticipated to focus on specific policy proposals and joint initiatives aimed at revitalizing Karachi’s economy and infrastructure.
