Pims Nurse Who Saved Child to Get Rs10m Reward Today

Islamabad: Nurse Razia Noreen, who reportedly risked her life to save a child during a violent incident at the nursery of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), is set to receive national recognition for her bravery.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned Razia Noreen to the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday evening, where he is expected to meet her and commend her courage during the incident.

According to sources, the prime minister will also present the nurse with a cash reward of Rs10 million in recognition of her actions.

The meeting will be attended by officials from the PIMS administration and the Ministry of Health.

Razia Noreen came into the spotlight after she reportedly stepped forward to protect a child amid the violence at the PIMS nursery. Her actions have drawn attention to the risks faced by healthcare workers, who can find themselves protecting vulnerable patients even when their own safety is under threat.

The decision to honour the nurse has also placed the focus on the often-overlooked courage of medical staff working in high-pressure environments, particularly those caring for children who are unable to protect themselves.

The prime minister’s meeting is expected to formally recognise Noreen’s role and underline the importance of courage and professional duty among healthcare workers.
