Pakistan To Integrates NADRA App for Remote Biometrics
News Desk
ISLAMABAD: In a major leap toward digital transformation and ease of doing business, the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has successfully integrated its digital platform with the National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) PakID Mobile Application.
This integration allows traders, clearing agents, and other stakeholders to complete their mandatory biometric verification remotely using their smartphones, eliminating the traditional requirement of visiting physical verification centers.
Under the new system, PSW users can seamlessly perform biometric verification for new subscriptions, annual subscription renewals, and profile updates directly through the PakID app. Previously, users were required to physically visit NADRA’s e-Sahulat Centres across the country to verify their identities.
This technological upgrade streamlines the registration process, reduces administrative bottlenecks, and significantly cuts down the time required to onboard new businesses onto the national trade portal.
The initiative is expected to yield substantial benefits for the country’s trade ecosystem, particularly for overseas Pakistanis who manage trade-related activities back home. By removing geographical barriers, the remote verification system enhances the accessibility of Pakistan’s import-export framework, fostering a more inclusive and efficient trading environment.
Experts believe this digital milestone will bolster Pakistan’s ranking in global ease of doing business indices and encourage foreign direct investment by simplifying regulatory compliance.
Moving forward, the PSW administration plans to roll out additional digital features aimed at automating cross-border trade documentation and integrating more regulatory authorities into the single-window network.
The government is also expected to launch awareness campaigns to educate the business community on utilizing the PakID app for seamless trade registration, marking a pivotal step in Pakistan’s transition toward a fully paperless economy.
