ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has intensified its operations against cybercrime, resulting in the arrest of dozens of suspects involved in international fraud and online exploitation across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
This crackdown, ordered by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, aims to combat the rising tide of cyber-related offenses.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi is overseeing the operation under a strict zero-tolerance policy towards cybercrime.
In a significant raid in Karachi, the NCCIA’s Karachi Circle apprehended 33 individuals at an illegal scam call centre known as Callion, located near a private hotel.
Additionally, 17 women were arrested during a separate operation in Lahore, highlighting the agency’s commitment to dismantling such criminal networks.
This aggressive approach to cybercrime is crucial for safeguarding citizens and maintaining public trust in digital platforms.
As cyber fraud becomes increasingly sophisticated, the NCCIA’s actions signal a proactive stance against threats that compromise financial security and personal data integrity.
Looking ahead, the NCCIA plans to expand its operations and collaborate with international law enforcement agencies to enhance its capabilities in tackling cybercrime.
Further investigations are expected to uncover more networks involved in fraudulent activities, ensuring that perpetrators are brought to justice.
