Islamabad: In continuation of the Zero out-of-school-children (OOSC) campaign in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), the Education Ministry Secretary discussed the action plan with all stakeholders and issued directions to complete the assigned task before the deadline.

A meeting was chaired by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Islamabad (MOFEPT) Secretary on Thursday, and the secretary reviewed the statistics of OOSC uploaded on the dashboard of the Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE).

The Secretary emphasised that the high number of OOSC in the capital and all over Pakistan is extremely concerning and requires further attention and effort.

The Basic Education Community Schools (BECHS) Director General has collected real-time data from 2500 OOSC during the last week and has enrolled 2241 children in newly established schools. The Director General is committed to achieving the target of enrolling 9000 OOSC by June 30, 2023.

BECS teams are continuously conducting the door-to-door survey and community mobilisation to achieve the target.
