Major Routes Sealed as Authorities Brace for PTI March

ISLAMABAD: Authorities have decided to seal major entry and exit routes, including sections of the Motorway and Grand Trunk Road, ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced long march toward Islamabad slated for September 27.
The sweeping security measures aim to maintain law and order and regulate traffic flow across the twin cities.
According to official sources, critical transit arteries such as Motorway M-1, Motorway M-14, and the GT Road at the Attock checkpoint will face complete closures starting this evening. Heavy contingents of law enforcement personnel are being deployed at strategic intersections to deter unauthorized gatherings and ensure public safety during the anticipated political mobilization.
The preemptive closures are expected to cause significant disruptions for commuters, commercial transporters, and daily wage earners traveling between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Economic analysts warn that prolonged blockades of primary trade corridors could temporarily hamper regional supply chains and inflate transportation costs for perishable goods.
District administrations and security agencies remain on high alert as negotiations and political maneuvering continue.
Further announcements regarding traffic diversions, public transport suspensions, and additional security protocols are expected later in the day as the deadline for the protest approaches.
