KP Lifts Quail Hunting Ban

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department has officially lifted the province-wide ban on quail hunting, introducing a revised set of conditional permits for wildlife enthusiasts and licensed hunters across the region.
According to the official office order issued by the Chief Conservator of Wildlife, the decision comes after a thorough review of regional wildlife populations and ecological management policies.
Under the newly introduced framework, hunting will remain strictly regulated, requiring individuals to acquire updated permits and strictly adhere to designated bag limits and seasonal boundaries outlined by the department.
The lifting of the ban is expected to bring relief to local hunting communities and eco-tourism ventures that rely on regulated seasonal sporting activities. However, the wildlife directorate has emphasized that unauthorized hunting or violation of the newly amended conditions will attract heavy fines, confiscation of equipment, and potential legal prosecution under the provincial wildlife act.
Wildlife officials have announced that field monitoring teams will be deployed across sensitive habitats to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
Further administrative guidelines detailing fee structures, authorized zones, and daily hunting quotas are set to be released by district wildlife offices in the coming days.
