Khawaja Asif Declares Terrorism, Not Politics, as Core Issue in KP

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Khawaja Asif emphasized that the primary challenge facing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is terrorism, not political strife.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Asif highlighted the urgent need for a unified approach to combat the rising tide of violence in the region.

Asif stated, “The state must recognize that the issue at hand is not merely a political one, but a matter of national security.

We must prioritize counter-terrorism efforts to ensure the safety of our citizens.” His remarks come amid increasing incidents of violence attributed to militant groups in the province, raising concerns over the effectiveness of current security measures.

This declaration underscores the broader implications for Pakistan’s stability, as the resurgence of terrorism poses significant risks not only to local communities but also to the national political landscape.

Analysts warn that failure to address these security challenges could lead to further destabilization and undermine public trust in government institutions.

Looking ahead, the government plans to convene a national security meeting next week to discuss strategies for enhancing security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Officials are expected to outline new initiatives aimed at strengthening law enforcement and intelligence operations to combat terrorism effectively.
