Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad sent journalist Asad Ali Toor to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) custody on physical remand for another three days.

In the case of running a social media campaign against the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Duty Judge Abbas Shah accepted the FIA’s request for physical remand.

At the beginning of the hearing, the FIA formally requested a further 9-day physical remand of Asad Toor.

However,Toor’s lawyers opposed his further physical remand.

Asad Toor came to the rostrum during the hearing and said, “I will not surrender my mobile phone, nor will I disclose my sources, as they are sacred to a journalist.”

He said, “I am on a hunger strike. They may offer me anything, but I refuse to consume any food myself.”
