ICT Police Arrest Repeat Offender, Recover Stolen Bikes

Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory Police have arrested a suspected motorcycle thief during a targeted operation, recovering stolen vehicles and a firearm within the jurisdiction of Shams Colony Police Station.
According to police officials, a team from Shams Colony carried out a successful raid, leading to the arrest of the accused, identified as Ijaz Baig, who is described as a habitual offender involved in multiple theft cases.
During the operation, police recovered three stolen motorcycles worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. The vehicles were reportedly taken from various locations within the same police jurisdiction.
Authorities also seized a 30-bore pistol along with ammunition, allegedly used in criminal activities, from the suspect’s possession.
Officials stated that Islamabad Police have intensified their crackdown on criminal elements to maintain law and order in the federal capital.
Muhammad Jawad Tariq, Deputy Inspector General of Police, reaffirmed that strict action against criminals will continue, adding that no one will be allowed to disrupt public peace.

Meanwhile, in a heartbreaking incident, a couple lost their lives in a devastating car crash on the M-1 Motorway near Brahma Bhattar interchange within the jurisdiction of Wah Saddar Police Station on Tuesday, while their two minor children sustained critical injuries.
According to National Highways and Motorway Police and Rescue 1122 sources, the family was travelling in a car when, suddenly, the vehicle lost control for unknown reasons, hit the divider, and subsequently overturned after plunging into a roadside ditch. The impact proved fatal for the driver, Umair Anyat, and his wife Komal Umair, who died on the spot.
Rescue teams responded promptly and shifted the deceased and injured to Wah General Hospital, however, due to the serious nature of their injuries, the two children—four-year-old Meeral and three-year-old Asad—were later referred to Holy Family Hospital for advanced treatment.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the accident, therefore seeking to ascertain the exact cause of the crash, moreover urging motorists to exercise caution on highways to prevent such tragic accidents.
