How Pakistani celebrities celebrated Independence Day

Islamabad: As Pakistan celebrated its 79th Independence Day on Friday, celebrities from the country’s entertainment industry joined the festivities online, sharing patriotic messages, family photographs and glimpses of how they marked the occasion.
From national flags and green-and-white outfits to heartfelt prayers for the country, showbiz personalities turned to social media to share their Independence Day celebrations with their followers.
Among those marking the day was actor Danish Taimoor, who reflected on the frustrations and disappointments people sometimes experience but stressed that Pakistan remains home.
He described the country as one that was “fought for, prayed for, and sacrificed for”, concluding his message with a patriotic note: “We are Pakistan. And Pakistan is us.”
Actor Muneeb Butt shared a family moment on Instagram, posting a video of his wife, actor Aiman Khan, and their daughters chanting “Pakistan Zindabad”.
Zubab Rana also embraced the national colours, sharing a picture carrying the Pakistani flag while dressed in a green-and-white eastern outfit with a green dupatta. She wished Pakistanis around the world a happy Independence Day and called for keeping the spirit of freedom alive.
Meanwhile, Asim Azhar shared a video featuring the national flag along with a green heart emoji, while actor Resham posted a cheerful video with Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari to mark the occasion.
Faysal Quraishi used the day to call for unity and progress, wishing that the spirit of freedom, unity and patriotism would continue to inspire people to build a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan.
Asad Siddiqui, meanwhile, focused on national identity, saying that Pakistanis could not be separated from their country simply because of holding a foreign passport. “No one can snatch our identity,” he added.
Amar Khan shared photographs with her followers and extended her wishes, while Saba Faisal marked the occasion by draping herself in the national flag and offering prayers for Pakistan.
Hina Altaf also used the occasion to highlight the broader meaning of freedom, extending her Independence Day wishes while expressing solidarity with Kashmiris. “Freedom is incomplete until it’s shared by all,” she wrote.
With personal photographs, family celebrations, national flags and messages of hope, Pakistani celebrities gave their followers a glimpse into their Independence Day celebrations while expressing wishes for peace, progress and prosperity for the country.
