Govt Announces Significant Reduction in Petrol, Diesel Prices

News Desk

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has announced a significant reduction in petrol and diesel prices, effective for the next 24 hours. Following the approval from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the Petroleum Division issued a notification detailing the new prices, which will take effect at midnight.

According to the notification, petrol prices will decrease by 7 rupees per liter, while diesel prices will also see a corresponding reduction. This decision aims to alleviate the financial burden on consumers amid rising inflation and fluctuating global oil prices.

The price cut is expected to provide much-needed relief to citizens, particularly in the transportation sector, which has been heavily impacted by previous price hikes. Economists suggest that this move could stimulate economic activity by lowering transportation costs, thereby benefiting various sectors reliant on fuel.

Looking ahead, the government is expected to monitor the impact of this price adjustment closely, with further reviews planned in the coming weeks. Stakeholders are urged to remain vigilant as global oil prices continue to fluctuate, which may influence future pricing strategies.
