Dry Weather in Parts of Sindh

Karachi: Dry weather with cold nights and foggy mornings in plain areas is likely to prevail over most parts of the province.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), most parts of the Sindh province will remain dry.

Pakistan Braces for Week-Long Weather Threat 

Pakistan has entered a high-risk weather period as authorities warn of possible flash floods, urban flooding and landslides following forecasts of widespread heavy rainfall across the country from July 18 to 23.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has placed several vulnerable regions on alert, directing emergency agencies to strengthen preparedness measures as the risk of rain-related disasters increases.

Mountainous regions remain the most exposed, with Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir facing potential flash floods triggered by intense rainfall in streams, hill torrents and river channels. Authorities have also highlighted risks in Punjab, Islamabad and parts of northeastern Balochistan.

The NDMA’s National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) said monitoring systems are fully activated and coordination is underway with provincial disaster management authorities to respond quickly to any emerging situation.

Gilgit-Baltistan could witness medium to high-level flooding, while upper and central districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain vulnerable to sudden water surges in seasonal streams and mountainous waterways.

Officials have urged local administrations and residents in risk-prone areas to remain vigilant as changing weather patterns continue to increase the threat of extreme rainfall events.
